A DSP algorithm, a Pitch / Speed Shifter has been ported from the VS1005 to the VS1010. The Pitch / Speed shifter allows for independent control of an MP3 file's playback speed and pitch. It can be used in various applications, including but not limited to:

The VS1005 operating system VSOS 3.61 has been released. This version recognizes the Internal/External SPI FLASH file system also if the device has been partitioned. It also makes it possible to modify kernel debug level from the command line.
VLSI Solution has founded a new educational YouTube Channel. The new channel will cover diverse topics around VLSI's IC products, from "first steps" videos to advanced topics. The first video shows the first steps with the VS1010 System-on-a-chip.
VLSI Solution has released a new version of the VS1005 HiRes Recorder. The new Client-Server model makes it easier to create vastly different user interfaces, depending on the application. In December 2020, a new HiRes Recorder graphical interface will be released, along with tools to create custom graphics.
The VS1005 operating system VSOS 3.61 has been released. This version makes it possible to access FAT file systems with a cluster size of 64 KiB (earlier cluster sizes up to 32 KiB were supported).
The VS1005 operating system VSOS 3.60 has been released, accompanied by a new package of Root Images and Libraries with source code and documentation. This new release has several bug fixes, along with some new applications like sysbkup and sysrestr which make SPI Flash programming faster in a system setup, and CpuFree, an analyzer for CPU time usage.
VLSI Solution's Integrated software Development Environment VSIDE has been updated to v2.47. Libraries and .h files have been updated particularly for the VS1005 family. Also templates for the VS1005 multitasking operating system VSOS 3.60 are included. It is highly recommended to upgrade to this new improved release if you are building VS1005 projects. |
