Support for the Opus audio format has been added to VS1005. At this first stage, VLSI offers an encoder / decoder capable of speech coding at 8 or 16 kHz. The bitrate varies between approximately 8-55 kbit/s, depending on the selected quality. Opus is now VLSI Solution's lowest bitrate speech codec.

VLSI Solution's Integrated software Development Environment VSIDE has been updated to v2.48. Libraries and .h files have been updated particularly for VS1010 and VS1005. Additionally, a new, more stable C Compiler and templates for the VS1005 multitasking operating system VSOS 3.63 are included.
