The VS1005 operating system VSOS 3.60 has been released, accompanied by a new package of Root Images and Libraries with source code and documentation. This new release has several bug fixes, along with some new applications like sysbkup and sysrestr which make SPI Flash programming faster in a system setup, and CpuFree, an analyzer for CPU time usage.
VLSI Solution's Integrated software Development Environment VSIDE has been updated to v2.47. Libraries and .h files have been updated particularly for the VS1005 family. Also templates for the VS1005 multitasking operating system VSOS 3.60 are included. It is highly recommended to upgrade to this new improved release if you are building VS1005 projects.
PlayDirP is a VS1005 player capable of playing audio files a directory at the time. It is much like PlayDir, except that it allows for two separate volume controls, e.g. one volume control for the analog outputs, and another control for the S/PDIF output.
Firmware v1.2 for the VS1010 USB-UART board is now available. This firmware allows for the UART speed to be changed and contains bug fixes.
VS1010 photos have been updated to reflect the currently available package options.
The VS1010 Voice Recorder is an example implementation of a Voice / MP3 Playback and Voice Recorder, running on the VS1010 Developer Board. It has three modes: Voice Playback, MP3 Playback, and Voice Recording. Voice recording is done at 8 or 16 kHz IMA ADPCM bit a bitrate of 32.5 or 65 kbit/s, respectively. An 8 GB SD card can hold over 11 days of voice recordings made at 16 kHz. Hi-Speed USB can be used to transfer audio files to / from the SD card.
The new VS1010 Intercom Demo shows how to connect several VS1010's together through UART to create a internal telephone / intercom / door phone system. With a RS-485 transport several connections at a time can be implemented. Please contact VLSI for more information! |
