The VS1053b Ogg Vorbis Encoder has been updated to version 1.40. The new version allows other chrystals than 12.288 MHz to be used. This will make it easier to use the encoder with applications that have e.g. a 12 MHz USB or 13 MHz mobile master clock.

It is with great sorrow that we have to report that our founding member, CEO and invaluable friend Tapani Ritoniemi has passed away on Monday March 16th, 2009, after a sudden illness. He will be sorely missed both by his relatives and the workers of VLSI Solution Oy.

The VS1053b Ogg Vorbis Encoder has been updated to version 1.31. The new version includes better features and documentation over v1.21 for building a streaming system. New features provide sample-accurate sample counters and information on how to control buffers by changing playback sample rate on the decoder chip.

VLSI starts to use extensive material declaration format. It's main part is based on Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA) specification JIG 101-A. We have supplemented the basic information of Level A and B with additional fields requested by some Japanese and American customers. We hope that this small step will contribute to better environment protection. All material declaration files are here.
